Who Are Brand Developers?

Brand developers, or in simpler terms brand managers are those individuals who are dedicated in making sure that the brand is going in the right direction, in alignment with the goal. For example, the brand manager for L’Oreal would be working day in and day out to make sure that the brand competes effectively; by making sure it does not lose its share and market standing. A brand for the company is a baby; they are working in order to give it everything they want.

What must a brand developer have?

A brand manager must have:
·         He must have a broader perspective – someone who could analyze the future of the product and feel intuitive
·         Firm analytical skills so that decision making is facilitated

He must be a good listener, someone who can create ideas, work on them and respond to different situations.

·         He must be involved in critical thinking and consumer research
·         Excellent communicator
·         Effective writer
·         Passionate and enthusiastic about the product category.

Therefore, in order to be a brand developer, one must have some attributes that make him outshine all.

Career track:

For someone to be a brand manager, it does not take one night. It is laid by hard working, day and night, because individuals are enthusiastic about this field. The reason is experiential learning, creative thinking, limitless opportunities and satisfaction. How does this journey of success starts?

1: Marketing Analyst:

This is entry level job opening for fresh graduates. The job entails looking about the market trends, and it’s the point where junior analyst learns from the HODs. For example, you are on managing a brand like Diet coke, than your job would be analyzing trends and understanding data. However, you would be part of all the major meetings; you would get to feel the thrill of that post, where you want to be in the next few years. The tenure of this job would be really small, up to a year only if you easily impress your boss.

2: Assistant brand manager:

At this post, you are right hand of the brand itself. For example, if Coke is your brand, you can easily give your ideas, assume changes, and do everything that you feel will improve the brand. However, still at the post you would be someone depend upon your head as final decision would be his call only.

3: Brand Manager:

Now you are the ole individual behind the brand – you are the man of words, you will draft strategies and you are the parent of the brand.
